Challenges

Challenges are a way to compete against all players on the same set of locations. Compare your guesses, climb leaderboards, and test your skills on fresh locations every day.

Daily Challenge

Every day, FreeGuessr generates four new daily challenges:

Regular	Moving	Standard gameplay — explore freely
No Move	No Move	Look around but can't move
NMPZ	No Move, Pan, Zoom	Single static image — expert level
Blink	Blink	Ultra-fast glimpse — instant recognition

Challenge Rules

• Same locations for everyone — Fair competition
• Usually 5 rounds per challenge
• Once per day — Can only play each challenge once
• Timed rounds — Timer varies by challenge type
• Reset at midnight (GMT+0)

🛡️ Anti-Cheat Protection

Challenges include multiple anti-cheat measures to ensure fair competition:

• No timer tricks — Once a round starts, it can only be resumed while the timer is still active. Refreshing the page won't give you extra time.
• Game recordings — Challenge rounds include session recordings, viewable from the round leaderboard. Watch how others played and verify fair play.
• Moderation — Admins and moderators can issue warnings and bans for rule violations (e.g., suspicious replay behavior). Banned users are automatically removed from all leaderboards.

Leaderboards

Each daily challenge has multiple leaderboards:

Per-Round Leaderboard

• See where everyone guessed for each round
• Compare your guess to the top players
• Learn from better guesses

Challenge Leaderboard

• Total score across all rounds
• Global ranking
• Filter by country or region

Filtering Options

• Global — All players worldwide
• By country — Compare with players from your country
• By region — Regional competition

Supporter Badge

Leaderboards display a supporter badge next to players who play with ads enabled. This helps identify players who support the game.

Note

Supporter detection may not always be accurate, and ads are not available in all regions.

You can create custom challenges and share them with friends, students, or the community.

Location Sources

Choose where your challenge locations come from:

1. From a Map — Use any existing map as the location source
2. Manual Locations — Add specific locations yourself:
   • Paste Google Street View links
   • Paste FreeGuessr location links
   • Enter coordinates manually

Creating a Challenge

1. Go to Challenges → Create
2. Set your challenge name and duration
3. Configure mode and settings
4. Add rounds (from map or manual locations)
5. Choose public or private
6. Create and share the link!

Rewards for Creators

• Earn 500 XP for every player who completes your challenge
• Build a following with popular challenges
• Great for teachers tracking student progress
